Satya is a cosmologist at Berkeley Lab and a Kavli Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences. She specializes in using astronomical observations to probe the mysteries of the Universe such as dark energy and dark matter. She has a background in mathematics, physics, and astronomy, and earned her Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Barcelona. Satya's research focuses on large-scale structures, cosmological surveys and data analysis. She is also passionate about mentoring junior scientists and engaging in science communication, blending artistry with scientific inquiry to share the story of the universe's evolution.
Satya dedicates time to teaching and speaking engagements, fostering collaboration between educational, governmental, and industrial sectors. Her interdisciplinary approach extends to artistic endeavors that allies science and storytelling with her background as an Odissi dancer.
