Lucy is an Emmy Awards winner and an Oscar nominee for her riveting, character-driven nonfiction films.
Her documentaries, which have received over a hundred awards, include Mountain Queen (2024), How To Change Your Mind (2022), adapted from Michael Pollan’s book, Bring Your Own Brigade (2021), Buena Vista Social Club Adios (2017), The Crash Reel (HBO, 2013), David Hockney In The Now (2012), The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom (2011), Waste Land (2010) about an art project in a garbage dump in Rio, Countdown to Zero (2010) about nuclear weapons, Blindsight (2006) about climbing Everest blind, Devil's Playground (2002) about Amish teens’ rumspringa period of freedom, and Nickelodeon’s Blues Clues. Soon to be released is Of Night and Light: The Story of Iboga and Ibogaine.
Lucy grew up in London, graduated with top honors in literature from Oxford University before winning a Fulbright Scholarship to earn her MFA in Film at NYU. At the beginning of her career she supported herself as a successful New York City DJ. She is based in Venice Beach and for fun curates TEDxVeniceBeach and is an artist in residence at SETI.
